Overview​

Monitoring Options​

Alerts and Notifications​

  • Device Connectivity: Alerts if the event monitor cannot contact the VMware host.
  • Snapshot Space Usage:
    • Per VM: Alerts if all snapshots for a single VM exceed a specified disk space.
    • Combined: Alerts if all snapshots combined exceed a specified amount of disk space.
  • Snapshot Age: Alerts if any snapshot is older than a specified number of days.

Snapshot Listing​

  • Snapshot Table: Option to include a table of snapshots in notifications, with choices to display all, the ten oldest, or the ten largest snapshots.

Exclusions​

  • Virtual Machines to Ignore: Specify VMs to exclude from monitoring.
  • Snapshots to Ignore: Specify snapshots to exclude from alerts.

  • Permissions Required: The account used must have view permissions for the VMware REST API or administrative rights.
