Alerts and Notifications
- Host Reachability: Alerts if the Hyper-V host cannot be contacted.
- Virtual Machine Reboots: Notifies when a VM is restarted, determined by a reset in uptime.
- State Changes: Generates alerts for any state transitions in VMs, except when entering the running state if so configured.
- Snapshot Count: Alerts if the number of VM snapshots exceeds a specified threshold.
Configuration Options
- Ignore VM Transitions to Running: Opt out of receiving alerts when VMs enter the running state.
- VM Uptime in Notifications: Include the uptime of each monitored VM in alerts.
- Exclusion List: Define VMs to ignore by names or partial names, separated by commas. Any virtual machine that has any of the specified strings in its name will be ignored.
Authentication and Security
- Required Permissions: Monitoring requires credentials with administrative rights or specific group memberships, such as Performance Monitor Users and Distributed COM Users groups.
