Use Cases

Monitoring Options

URLs and Connectivity

  • URLs: Enter the URLs to be checked in the format http://[devicename]/index.html. The placeholder [devicename] will be replaced by the actual device name during monitoring.
  • Alert with [Info/Warning/Error/Critical] if the web server cannot be contacted: Get alerts when the server is unreachable.
  • Alert with [Info/Warning/Error/Critical] if a status other than 200 is returned: Trigger alerts for any HTTP status codes other than 200, indicating success.

Content Monitoring

  • Alert with [Info/Warning/Error/Critical] if the page content contains specified text: Alerts if certain text is found on the page, useful for spotting error messages.
  • Alert with [Info/Warning/Error/Critical] if the page content does not contain specified text: Alerts if expected text is missing from the page.
  • Perform an advanced content check: Execute custom Javascript checks on page content. Adjust the Result.Status and Result.Text based on the findings.

Performance Metrics

  • Download the page multiple times and alert based on download times: Evaluate page load performance by downloading the page multiple times.
  • Alert if the average download time is greater than a specified value: Monitor average download speeds.
  • Alert if the maximum download time is greater than a specified value: Monitor peak download speeds.
  • List the download times in each notification: Include download times in alert notifications.

Additional Options

  • Follow HTTP redirects: Follow any redirects to ensure monitoring of the final destination page.
  • Save the downloaded page contents to a file: Save the content for further analysis, specifying the path on the PIM+ server.
  • Connect Time Out: Specify how long to wait while trying to establish a connection.
  • Receive Time Out: Specify how long to wait for the webpage to load after a connection has been made.
