Overview

Monitoring Options
This event monitor provides the following options:
Queue Length Alerts
- Internal Aggregate Delivery: Total size of all queues used for internal message delivery.
- External Aggregate Delivery: Total size of all queues used for external message delivery.
- Active Mailbox Delivery: Number of messages in the active mailbox queues.
- Retry Mailbox Delivery: Number of messages waiting for retries.
- Submission Queue: Number of messages in the Submission queue.
- Unreachable Queue: Number of messages in the Unreachable queue.
Message Traffic Alerts
- Messages Submitted Per Second: Number of messages queued in the Submission queue per second.
- Messages Completed Delivery Per Second: Number of messages delivered per second.
- Messages Queued for Delivery Per Second: Number of messages queued for delivery per second.
SMTP Alerts
- SMTP Connections Current: Number of SMTP connections currently being used to send messages.
- SMTP Messages Sent/sec: Number of SMTP messages being sent per second.
- SMTP Message Bytes Sent/sec: Number of bytes per second of messages being sent by SMTP.
POP3 and IMAP4 Alerts
- POP3 Connections Current: Number of POP3 connections currently active.
- IMAP4 Current Connections: Number of IMAP4 connections currently active.
Outlook Web Access Alerts
- Current Users: Number of users currently using Outlook Web Access.
Database Alerts
- Database Page Fault Stalls/sec: Rate of database page fault stalls. Expected to be less than 10.
- Version Buckets Allocated: Number of version buckets allocated. Expected to be less than 200.
Authentication and Security
- The account used for authentication must be a member of the Performance Monitor Users group or have admin rights.
