Overview​

The System Uptime Event Monitor checks the uptime counter that Windows maintains and alerts you whenever it detects that a system has been rebooted.

Use Cases​

  • Receiving Restart Alerts: Get alerts when systems are restarted.

Monitoring Options​

Connectivity Alerts​

  • Device Contact: Alert with [Info/Warning/Error/Critical] if the device cannot be contacted.

Uptime Monitoring​

  • Reboot Detection: Alert with [Info/Warning/Error/Critical] if the device has been rebooted.
  • Include Uptime in Notifications: Include the system uptime in all alerts and notifications.

Data Retrieval Method​

  • Use WMI: Use Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) to retrieve the uptime data.

The account used for authentication must be a member of the Performance Monitor Users group or have admin rights.
